As many of you know, our community has been passionately dedicated to the cause of safeguarding and creating safe environments for everyone. Today, I am delighted to announce the next big step in our journey: the official launch of Saféglia Consult!

Saféglia Consult is our new venture (we received our CAC certificate on the 18^th of April) aimed at providing expert consultancy services in the realm of safeguarding. With Saféglia, we aim to extend our impact beyond the digital world of Shielded Space, bringing hands-on expertise to a wider audience.

Affluent Neglect and How it Affects Children

I apologise for my inconsistent posts. However, I can assure you that I have been busy, and I will share details of what I have been up to very soon. 

In the meantime, today, I am shining the spotlight on Affluent neglect (Sounds like an oxymoron) and its profound impact on children's well-being. This blogpost will explain what affluent neglect entails and its effect on children.

Firstly, Child Neglect is the persistent failure to meet a child’s basic physical and/or psychological needs, and this affects children across all socioeconomic backgrounds. While poverty-related neglect is more commonly recognised, affluent neglect can be just as damaging, albeit less visible.
